How to Prevent Bacne?

TowelsNo matter how many times you hear the adage ‘prevention is better than cure’ it will never get old. For skin problems such as acne on the back or bacne, this is particularly true. After all, would you rather spend months and years in trying to get rid of painful and ugly eruptions on your back or prevent them from breaking out in the first place? Surely the latter option is way more appealing.

Therefore you should be aware of how to prevent bacne. And the best thing is that there is no rocket science involved here; just some simple tips to keep back acne out of your life.

One of the main reasons why acne occurs is because your skin cannot ‘breather’ properly. Sounds strange? Well, picture this: if you wear tight clothes, you sweat more because of low circulation of air. Moreover, tight clothes (particularly those made of synthetic materials) can cause abrasion and increase the number of dead cells on the skin.

Both sweat and dead cells can clog the pores on the skin from where the sebaceous glands secrete oil. And this, as you may well know, is the main cause of acne. On the other hand, if you wear lose fitting clothes made of breathable materials (those which allow air to pass) this problem can be avoided.

Then there is the need to keep your skin clean as far as possible. For this, taking regular showers is a must. If you are an active person and play sports or go to the gym, showering after the workout can help remove whatever sweat and dirt has accumulated on your back. Use an anti-bacterial soap or body wash to effectively remove bacteria as well.

After showers, do remember to wipe your back dry before dressing up, because excess moisture can also cause bacne.

Another great way, of keeping the skin on your back clean, is exfoliation. Using scrubs, loofahs or washcloths, gently massage your skin to remove the dead cells accumulated on the skin. Dead cells accumulate as a part of the body’s natural regeneration process and removing them is important so that they do not block the skin pores. Use sugar based scrubs instead of salt based ones, because they are gentler on the skin.

It is also believed that tanning can help prevent acne because dries up the excess moisture from the skin. So, you can hit the beach once in a while to tan up your back. If you do not have access to a beach, you can use a solarium device to get the tan. But do keep in mind that once you have bacne, tanning or solarium devices can aggravate your condition too.

Food habits can also play a major role in preventing acne. The idea here is to consume less of oily foods, particularly if you have an active sebaceous gland and your skin in oily. Excess oily can block skin pores and attract dirt and bacteria. You should also have foods which are known to be blood cleansers.

If you apply all that has been discussed so far, in your life, bacne can be prevented!
